  This lid switch is a very common failed part for a washer, if this lid switch fails the washer will not start at all, or you might notice that the washer will fill with water and might not want to go into the wash cycle, meaning that the washer will not agitate. You might start a load and come back to the washer to find that the clothes are still sitting in a tub full water, if this is the case then the lid switch will most likely need to be changed
